‘STRAIGHT DOWN THE LINE’ THEME: WORKPLACE ETHICS HANDBOOK

Briefs that specify ‘user friendly’ and ‘plain language’ where source material is legalistic and the final result subject to the approval and sign-off by lawyers are invariably challenging!
This A5 handbook took an everyday expression ‘straight down the line’ and a companion front page visual metaphor (also relating to the company’s statewide areas of operations) to take the edge off its function as a strict compliance rule book.

Mindful re-writes and edits for clarity, engaging photography and the use of the brand’s colour palette throughout made the subject matter more inviting, easier to absorb – and legally compliant.

WORKING WITH TECHNICAL AND ENGINEERING PERSONNEL
Technical briefs originating through a client’s marketing and communications department invariably benefit from the arrangement of working contact with the technicians themselves. Benefits include:
- fewer rounds of changes,
- faster turnaround times,
- confidence in complete accuracy,
- faster approvals and sign-offs.
Persuaded that services offered include a quick study in the comprehension of technical and engineering basics, management or marketing personnel quickly learn that accurate results are fast tracked, with little or no compromise to the schedules of technical staff.
The examples above supported internal and subcontractor comms to clarify the hierarchy of responsibilities for maintenance and repair of the energy network within private properties. Annotated hand-drawn sketches were the only source material available. The only liaison required was for the clarification of nomenclature and some apparent anomalies.
